24 July 2026 — independent directory reconciliation and legal clean-up

The tracker was compared with Data Center Map as a coverage benchmark, then each candidate was researched independently. New records include four large NSW planning applications, the Southern Highlands Data Campus, Ballarat and Mid West regional facilities, VIRIDIS Burnie, 42-24 Hobart and Google’s reported Christmas Island data hub. The 90 Aldington Road record uses the current 245 MW planning-portal figure rather than earlier 168 MW reporting. Records that depended directly on a commercial directory were removed or replaced with operator sources. The tracker now contains 140 records.

Method, terms and privacy pages were tightened; an explicit right-of-reply process and permanent OpenStreetMap/OpenFreeMap attribution were added. This tracker does not import or reproduce a commercial directory database.

23 July 2026 — late-breaking S7 and Weddell updates

NEXTDC S7 was updated from the operator’s 550+ MW public description to the current 612 MW application figure. Its record now notes three buildings, 340 backup generators and the replacement of the recycled-water proposal with closed-loop liquid cooling and air heat rejection. Beetaloo Digital was moved from a broad Beetaloo-region marker to approximate Weddell and expanded to the two-campus, 185-hectare feasibility proposal with up to 2 GW of gas generation. Neither change was folded into the April report’s 21.6 GW national headline.

The tracker expanded from 102 to 133 attributed records. New coverage includes NEXTDC’s regional edge sites, Leading Edge’s six-site regional NSW network, DCI’s Sydney build-out, Edge Centres’ regional fleet, current Vocus regional records, Firmus projects in Tasmania and South Australia, Keppel’s Morwell option and Energy North’s Project Ares. NEXTDC GE1 and D2 were moved to construction; D1, S6 and DCI Adelaide capacities were corrected against current operator disclosures.

The tracker expanded from 35 starter records to 102 attributed records across all Australian states and territories represented in public evidence. Facility, campus and portfolio record types were added.

CDC Marsden Park was corrected from operational to early construction. Eastern Creek was separated into four operating buildings and two construction-stage buildings in line with CDC’s location disclosure.

The static map was replaced with a zoomable street map and a bundled map worker. A readable project index remains available if the external street layer cannot load.
